Grandma Dorthy's 80th Birthday

What a great summer it has been so far!  I have moved from Houston to LA, an exciting and bittersweet relocation, which found me leaving behind amazing friends and family who will be a part of my life forever, and making new friends here, who I look forward to getting to know better.  I have had the opportunity to see my brother, who lives here in California, much more often in the last few months than I have in years : )  And the list goes on..... however the biggest highlight of my summer was being able to celebrate my Grandma Dorthy's 80th birthday with her and our family in June.   My Aunts and Mother spent a lot of time and effort over the past year making sure that my Grandmother's special day was spectacular and they more than succeeded in their goal.  It was perfect! Therefore, I was really honored and nervous when they asked me to create the centerpieces for each table for the party and to be honest I was more nervous about this batch of cookies than I have been about all the other batches combined!   I'd like to thank my mom, aunts, and cousins for all of your help, you were all amazing!  Thank you also for the opportunity to contribute to a party for a woman whom a love dearly and wish I could see more often.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA.  (PS I hope I look this amazing at 80!!)

Graduation Season

It's that time of year again, the time in which we welcome all the new graduates into "the real world."  One of my favoriate Dr's at my job asked me to make graduation cookies for his nephew who is graduating from Texas A&M.  These cookies allowed me to try out my new graduation cookie cutter set and were also really fun to make : )

Wedding Frames

I'm always trying to come up with new options to display my cookies so when my cousin Kerry asked for a dozen bridal cookies for one of our friends shower I was excited to try to find something that would not only look nice, but ship well too!   I came across these picture frames and decided to paint them black and label them with the couple's names and the date that the will be married.  For a first attempt I'm very happy with the way they turn out and cannot wait to see what they'll look like with actual pictures of the couple in them!

Baby Boy Blue

My Uncle Joe has been an amazing patron of my cookie bouquet business.  He made many orders during the holiday season and whenever someone has a special event going on in their lives it's highly likely that I'll be making a cookie bouquet. (Love him!)  So when his vet, who takes wonderful care of Joe's 15 year old dog, welcomed his first baby into the world it a cookie bouquet was ordered.

One Year Anniversary - Happy 9th Birthday Hailey!

Well folks it has officially been a year since I started making cookie bouquets.  My first batch was made in celebration of Hailey's 8th Birthday and this past weekend we celebrated her 9th!  Cannot believe it and would like to thank everyone who has taste tasted, ordered and plain put up with all my cookie business : )   THANK YOU!

Jake's The Man

My cousin Jacob is one of those special people who always brings a smile to your face with a simple hello.  God blessed my family years ago by bringing Jacob into our lives and Jake continues to bless everyone he comes into contact with on a daily basis.  This year has been an amazing year of accomplishments for Jake; he has obtained his first job and has been voted amongst his peers unto the Junior Prom Court.  Below is a picture of Jake at his new job and some cookies I made to congratulate him on his prom nomination.  Way to go Jake!

UPDATE :  Jacob Lemke was crowned Chi-Hi's 2012 Junior Prom King.  So proud of him for being such a ray of sunshine in so many people's lives and his classmates for recognizing what an amazing person he is!

Ava's Birthday

My Cousin Holly's daughter Ava requested an order of cookies for her birthday.  She browsed thru my selection of birthday cookies and decided that her favorites were the cupcakes with the sprinkles.  Happy birthday Ava - I hope you enjoy your cookies : )

Princess Frog

My sister Laura is amazing.  She is always showing people my blog and the many many pictures of my cookies that I've sent to her over the past year.  Because of her enthusiasm, one of her co-workers decided to order a birthday basket for their niece.  According to my sister, this niece is the only daughter out of a house full of boys and is indeed a little princess.  Laura's co-worker ordered 6 cookies, but since I had just gotten some new additions to my princess collection I made a few extras to see how they would turn out.

Will You Be My Bridesmaid

One of my co-worker's friends is getting married this year.  A growing theme amongst brides is finding a unique way to ask their bridesmaids to be part of their bridal party.  This friend asked my co-worker to be part of her wedding by making a calendar that included pictures of them throughout their friendship with "Will You Be May Bridesmaid?" on the cover.  She wanted to use another unique idea to ask another friend to be part of her special day and asked that I make a special cookie bouquet to help her pop the question :)
