Breast Cancer Awareness

One of the girls I work with is a Breast Cancer Survivor.  Every October our office does something special to celebrate.  Of course this year my contribution was cookies.

Happy 60th Birthday

This October I was blessed to have the opportunity to celebrate my father's 60th birthday!  This post is by far the most difficult one I've ever sat in front of my computer to put together.  How do you explain to others how amazing it is to have a father like mine.   He is an enigma, often misunderstood by others, but someone who tries to understand and see the good in everyone.  Someone with a pure heart and an honest tongue.  He has sacrificed so much of his time to make sure that his family has everything they could possibly need and some.  I can call him on the phone in the middle of the day and we talk for hours.  Sometimes nonsense, sometimes we solve the worlds problems, but if I need him he always makes the time.  I love you dad.  Here's to many more birthdays!

Till next time

It has been far too long since I've posted on here...and far too long since I've made cookies on a consistent basis.  During my blogging hiatus a wonderful friend left us here in SoCal and made the move back to the East coast : (  Kaplanis you are missed girl.  Here are the butterfly cookies I made her, not to say goodbye...but to say... "Until Next Time."

Beach Baby

I always enjoy making batches of cookies that incorporate cookie cutters I've used before in a new way. This batch of cookies was especially fun because I was able to use one of my favorite cutters, the onesie, to bring together a beach baby theme. The woman who ordered the cookies told me exactly what she wanted -  which was a great change - I love when clients give me artistic freedom, but it is also nice to be given exact instructions from time to time. All in all, I love these cookies!!!!

Looking for Inspiration Everywhere

I am always looking for new cookie design ideas, so when I spotted rose cookies in the Harry and David's catalog I knew instantly that I wanted to try to make them.  One of my fav blogs to follow, www.sweetsugarbelle.com, always incorporates old cookie cutters into unique designs and when I looked at the roses I instantly new I had a similar cutter at home that I had previously used to make Candy Corn Cookies.  These cookies were fun to make and were extra special because I was able to give the pink ones to a co-worker who loves flowers and the yellow ones are being sent to Delaware to my boyfriends mother as part of her birthday/Mother's Day care package.

Think Spring Birthday

The weather here in California keeps teasing us by going back and forth between Summer Like days and back to what is considered "Winter Like." (AKA Spring like anywhere else but here!)  Therefore I decided that I would celebrate a co-workers birthday with what I consider to be 'Spring Like' cookies so we can hopefully tip the scales a little more towards warmer weather.

SUPERBOWL SUNDAY

Had to bring cookies to the Superbowl party we are going to today.  (Couldn't bring myself to make Niners cookies - today I'm a Ravens fan.)

Yoli's BIrthday

These cookies were made for a girl I work with who refuses to eat any form of water creature.  She and I tend to joke around with one another a lot at work, so when here big day finally arrived I couldn't just make regular birthday cookies now could I?

Gabby's Birthday

One of my co-worker's boyfriends decided to throw her a surprise birthday party!  So of course I decided to make her some cookies to celebrate!   Happy Birthday Gabby : )
