Sometimes the most difficult part of making goodies is finding something to display them in that matches the imagery of what I and whoever is making an order desires. So.... I decided to try to create my own cake pop / cookie bouquet stand to see if making them is an option I'd like to offer in the future. For a first attempt, and as someone who is power tool challenged, I'm reasonably happy with the way this stand turned out and look forward to creating stands that match the themes of the events I'm catering in the future. Of course the decision of whether to use a basket or stand will depend on the recipients wishes : ) I'm just happy to be able to provide a way to more fully customize everyones order! (I didn't have any ready made goodies on hand, so please use your imagination to place either cookies or cake pops at the top of the sticks in the pictures below. )

Crazy Busy Week
I made more cookies in the past week than I probably have ever : ) I began the week making the previously posted 50 wedding shower cookies. Personally I LOVE the brides and grooms and they were a big hit at the shower!!!! In fact they were such a big hit that I received another order for a dozen more in the middle of this week so that the hostess could give some to co-workers who were unable to attend. She also ordered a dozen of the fall leaves and acorns. I added gold pearl dust to those and was very happy with the results :) I also wanted to give mailing cookies a try. I made some BSU (Boise State University) cookies for my grandmother and mailed them out on Friday...crossing my fingers that they'll make it there in one piece!!! Finally I made 72 Hello Kitty Baby Shower cookies and am happy to say that I am done making cookies for this week : ) We'll see what next week brings : )

Bridal Shower Part One
My Uncle Joe asked me to make 50 bride and groom cookies for a bridal shower this up coming weekend(25 of each.) I decided to start by making the brides because they are more fun. I really enjoyed this project because it allowed me to try out different design options. Each bride, except for the two with sprinkles, are uniquely designed. I'm hoping this gives people with future orders a varitey of designs to choose from if they would like to custimize their order. I also tried a new method of flooding the cookie frosting on the cookie instead of painting it which drastically reduced my production time :)

Spooky Sweets
I have been trying to find time since September to make a batch of Halloween cookies from the cookie cutters I recently purchased. I was really excited about these cutters because they have a different look to them than most of the other cutters I have. (Can you tell I'm developing a cookie cutter addiction!!!) However September and October where busy months as usual and I haven't been able to find the time. So last night I made myself sit down in between mixing batches of dough for an order of 50 cookies for this weekend and decorated the cookies below. I LOVE THEM :)
